It’s a bad day to be Twitter user @AndyPlumb4, a man who describes himself as a ‘Patriot and proud Brit’ who ‘says it how it is’…

Andy made the costly error of accusing Jeremy Vine (in a since-deleted Tweet) of being the TV presenter who was suspended over allegations of paying £35,000 to a 17-year-old for sexually explicit images.

Of course, we all now know that the accused presenter is Huw Edwards, which means Andy Plumb, the guy who ‘says it how it is’, was completely wrong and I guess going off gut instinct when he libelously claimed the mystery presenter was Jeremy Vine.

Finding himself properly in the sh*t, Andy Plumb issued an apology to Jeremy Vine, who himself shared an update on the situation and revealed that he is making Plumb pay out:

‘On 8 July @AndyPlumb4 libelled me by alleging that I was the BBC presenter at the heart of a story in The Sun that day.

He has now acknowledged that he was wrong, and has apologised. At my request, he has also agreed to pay £1,000 to @mndassoc rather than paying damages.’

Good stuff. Not only is Plumb being made to fork out for his actions but the money is also going to great cause in the MND association – a charity that cares for those living with or affected motor neurone disease.

Vine also screenshotted and shared Plumb’s public apology to him:

Extra funny considering how cocksure Plumb was that Jeremy Vine was the guy:

Wrong again.
