Israel Asks Taylor Swift For Help In Getting Back Swiftie Taken Hostage By Hamas

In one of the most unbelievably transparent and possibly genius propaganda moves of all time, the state of Israel’s official Twitter account has asked Taylor Swift for her help in convincing Hamas to return a Swiftie (a Taylor Swift fan) who was taken hostage during the October 7 terror attack:

If there’s one person Hamas will listen to, it’s Taylor Swift, surely. Why not get her to convince Palestinians to evacuate Gaza and the West Bank altogether, if that’s the end game?

It’s not the first time Israel has begged Taylor Swift to get involved in their PR – they previously tagged her to let her know that her personal bodyguard had arrived safely in Israel after he left working with her to join the fight against Hamas:

Just letting her know, that’s all!

Obviously this puts Taylor Swift fully on the spot as she has to decide whether to get involved or even address this at all. No matter how anyone feels about the conflict, there’s a 19-year-old girl named Roni Eshel who is missing and possibly being held captive by Hamas (as are many others).

If (hypothetically) Taylor Swift could do something to convince Hamas to release her, then that would be awesome. On the other hand, she would then be seen as taking a side in the conflict and have to deal with the headache that comes with that. If she does nothing, she may be accused by millions of other Swifties of not caring about one of her biggest fans. What a predicament! Cheers for that, Israel.

Meanwhile, there are other celebrities who have no problem letting the world know where they stand on the war. Angelina Jolie and her dad have fallen out over it, and Gal Gadot is putting on a whole cinema screening to win people over to her side. Crazy times we live in.
