It’s been a while since we’ve heard from ISIS bride Shamima Begum, with the last news we received from her coming a few weeks ago when she announced that her son Jarrah had sadly died. I don’t care what you think about her, it’s still completely awful that her newborn baby had to die in that manner.

Anyway, Shamima has conducted another interview with The Times from the refugee camp in al-Hol where she currently finds herself.  She states that she was brainwashed into joining ISIS and has accepted the fact that she’ll never return to the UK and has been left stateless. Here’s what she had to say:

I left London for Syria as a 15 year old believing everything that I had been told, while knowing little about the truths of my religion.

I have sat down and thought about how long I would have to stay here. And I have kind of accepted that I will have to stay here, I will have to make this like a second home.

Since I left Baghuz I really regretted everything I did and I feel like I want to go back to the UK for a second chance to start my life over again.

I was brainwashed.

Anything I said against Dawlah (IS), they would immediately attack me, so I was afraid of that.

She claims that was why she initially seemed to condone the terrorist attacks in Manchester during some of her first interviews. I suppose I can believe that, but as for the question of what to do with her, I really got no idea. The worst thing that can ever happen to her as already happened three times with the deaths of her three babies, so would it be so bad to let her back here to put her on trial and rehabilitate her? That’s not for me to say but I don’t think it’s that cool to just leave her our there in the desert to die or whatever. Not sure what the answer is though.

Here’s what Danny Dyer thinks about the whole situation though. Can always trust him to speak his mind.
