It’s been months since allegations about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct and alleged multiple rapes of several women in Hollywood first came to light, and I’m sure that like many of us you probably just figured he would be shamed and ostracised but that nothing would ever actually happen to him because he was too powerful and rich figure in the industry.

Well, looks like we’re all wrong as this morning Weinstein turned himself into police at a New York station at around 7:30am, and was subsequently ‘arrested, processed and charged with rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct for incidents involving two separate women’. This comes after Federal prosecutors stated that they had opened a probe against him and it looks as if they decided they had enough evidence to actually charge him. It might have took you a while guys, but I gotta say way to go on that one as I honestly thought he was going to get away scott free on this.

It’s unsure who the two separate women are at this point, but it’s thought that one is Lucia Evans, who has stated that Harvey forced her to perform oral sex on him back in 2014. Obviously there are multiple accounts of his awful behaviour from stars such as Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Gwyneth Paltrow, Salma Hayek and Ashley Judd out there on the internet, so the other woman could literally be anyone.

Obviously it’s going to be very interesting to see how this story develops and it seems unlikely that Weinstein would have turned himself in if he didn’t think he had a very good chance of being found innocent of his crimes. Where’s there a shit tonne of money, there’s always a way. We’ll keep you posted.
