The whole media circus surrounding the Harvey Weinstein scandals seems to have quietened down over the summer but it looks as though it might head into full gear again with the emergence of a video that shows him groping one of his alleged victims and acting inappropriately.

The video comes courtesy of a woman named Melissa Thompson who was 28 at the time of the alleged rape in 2011. She was attending a meeting at The Weinstein Company and was under the impression that she would be pitching for business from their marketing team, but was surprised when Harvey himself showed up and took the meeting with her alone.
As part of the demonstration Thompson recorded some of it, which is why this video exists. In the video, you can see Harvey touching Melissa inappropriately and being really creepy and whilst it is true she’s kinda flirting back with him a bit, he’s definitely saying and doing stuff that is not cool in any situation, let alone a business meeting:

It wasn’t at 10pm, it wasn’t an invitation to go to his hotel room, it was an invitation to come to a hotel lobby that was within blocks of the office and so that to me felt much safer than being alone with him in his office.
Ms Thompson said Weinstein came to the hotel lobby and told her to follow him.
She assumed they were going to a conference room, but it was Weinstein’s hotel room.
There, she said, he raped her.
She said: “If I would try to fight myself away from him, he would then move around to a place where he could block me in. I constantly felt trapped, no matter where I turned. He corned me, over and over again.”
Disgusting. Thompson is involved with the class action lawsuit against Weinstein so we can only hope that he goes down for his truly awful behaviour. Sooner rather than later too.
