Whenever you travel on a plane, there’s always the worry that the airline are going to lose or damage your luggage somehow – it actually does happen all the time – but this story might serve to change attitudes about all of them as it really shows how some baggage handlers clearly went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that a piece of precious cargo reached his destination.

An unknown passenger over the weekend travelling from Melbourne to Perth over in Australia checked in one can of Emu Export lager. Incredibly, the beer made its way to the destination without a scratch on it. Here’s the video and a little bit of behind the scenes knowledge:

My mate works at the airport and we hatched the plan as a laugh – I half didn’t expect it to come out the other end.

But when it did it was sent out well in front of all the other luggage, so the baggage handlers obviously appreciated it.

I mean I suppose it is kinda cool but the fact his buddy works at the airport probably meant that everyone involved was briefed ahead of time to make sure that it worked out, which makes it significantly less cooler than if it just happened randomly without interference. So it goes though I suppose. In case you were wondering, the airline was Qantas, who I definitely plan on flying with again soon.
