Meet The Girl Born Without A Vagina

19-year-old Jacqui Beck, from the Isle of Wight, was 17 when she went to the doctor complaining of back pain. She mentioned in passing to the doctor that she hadn’t started her periods, and so they ran some tests, which revealed she has MRKH — a rare syndrome which affects the reproductive system and means Jacqui was born with no womb, cervix or vaginal opening.

Instead there is simply an indent or ‘dimple’ where her vagina should be, meaning she can’t have sex or fall pregnant.

Which is obviously a damn shame. Legitimately feel so bad for this girl. It is surprising she didn’t find out until she was 17, though.

Fortunately there’s light at the end of the, erm, tunnel. Jacqui has been using a dilator to stretch her vaginal canal and probably won’t need any kind of invasive surgery. Eventually, when she chooses to, she’ll be able to have a sex life and live life as normal.
