The Bhut Jolokia (sometimes known as the Ghost Chili) is recognised in the Guiness Book of World Records as the hottest chili on the planet, measuring in at 401.5 times hotter than tabasco sauce. The Ghost Chili is so hot that scientists at India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation have been testing it out in hand grenades to make a non-lethal explosive, rad.
