Johnny Depp has pretty much always had the vast majority of the public on his side during his trial with Amber Heard, but now that he’s won the case against her it seems like everyone else is desperate to get back in his good books too.

Even just a year ago, it seemed unthinkable to imagine that Depp might return to the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ franchise, but that’s exactly what one former Disney exec thinks might be scheduled to happen in the future. Here’s what the unnamed exec had to say:

I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board.

There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.

With [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer riding high on the massive success of Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick, there is huge appetite for bringing back bankable Hollywood stars in massively popular franchises.

Yeah we all know that money talks and that would be a massive draw, but it’s worth noting that Depp said during the trial that he would never work with Disney on another ‘Pirates’ movie again after he was unceremoniously fired following Heard’s allegations. In fact, Depp said that he wouldn’t return to the franchise if they offered him $3oo million and a million alpacas, but now things are different and like I just said, we all know that money talks. Depp might feel like he needs to do it for the fans following their support over the last few years as well, so I wouldn’t bet against this happening in the future. Hollywood and money have a way of making things work out.

For more of the same, check out what Ricky Gervais had to say about the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial. Pretty good take to be honest.
