This story appears to have taken place in 2019 but has gone viral now for some reason, with some shocking takes on the situation doing the rounds on social media.

As per WFLA, Florida man Felix Taylor, 36, was arrested and subsequently jailed after slapping a pregnant woman who was smoking a cigarette.

The victim told Pensacola police she was smoking a cigarette, which made Taylor angry and prompted him to confront her. He told her that she shouldn’t be smoking because she is pregnant and that if she wanted cigarettes, her new boyfriend should supply them. Not sure what the latter point has to do with anything, but OK.

The woman then told police that Taylor took the cigarette from her mouth, threw it on the floor and smacked her in the mouth while she was sitting on the bed.

Taylor then went into the living room and started smoking a cigarette himself (bit cheeky), but then returned to the bedroom to continue the argument.

At this point, he hit the woman in the face again and punched her in the abdomen.

So clearly, this scumbag fully deserved to be arrested and jailed for aggravated battery. The internet being what it is, however, some people reckon his actions were justified because women should not be smoking when pregnant:

Literally hundreds of comments like these ones, and while I’m sure a lot of them are just trolls, it’s sad to think that anyone believes it would be acceptable to hit a woman, even if she is stupid enough to smoke while pregnant.

Not to mention – one of those hits was a literal punch to the stomach! Not exactly a baby-loving hero if you ask me.

Well anyway, I’d imagine Felix Taylor is probably out of jail by now, unless he’s re-offended since then. Being a Florida man who sees no issue with slapping and punching women, I’d say there’s a fairly high probably of that being the case.

The real question is… what became of the mother and her baby? Not sure we want to know, tbf.
