There’s a lot of excitement over incoming movie ‘Good Boy’, described as a horror film shot from the perspective of a dog who sees its owner haunted by supernatural spirits. In fact it’s already been named as the most heartbreaking horror film of 2025 with a near-perfect 95% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Here’s the trailer:

And the synopsis:
A loyal dog moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.
I mean, that just sounds perfect, doesn’t it? The only concern everyone seems to have is whether the dog, Indy, dies at the end. Which would be a more devastating outcome than any human death in horror movie history. Might there be a sizable section of movie-goers who skip the movie altogether out of fear that this happens? Might the dog dying affect reviews after the film is out on October 3? I genuinely think it would.
Either way, Mashable’s Kristy Puchko gave it a rave review: “Indy is just a star from his first frame. His dark eyes, floppy ears, and sweet expression make him instantly lovable. But more than that, he is so game for whatever Leonberg directs him to do. Staying and staring into an eerie abyss? Jumping into action? Reacting to a burst of blood? Racing to Todd to protect him? Indy is a good boy, through and through.”
Sounds like a must-watch; although you already knew that from watching the trailer. Can’t wait!
