‘Scream V’ did such a good job of resurrecting the horror franchise early last year that the powers that be fast tracked another sequel and amazingly it’s going to be released on March 3rd of this year. How’s that for efficiency?

There haven’t been to many plot teasers for the movie yet, other than the fact that it’s set in New York and that Courtney Cox will be returning as Gail Weathers and Neve Campbell sadly won’t be taking part again due to a pay dispute. Other returning cast members include Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) from ‘Scream V’ and Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) from ‘Scream 4’. How are they gonna organically work all of those people moving to New York City for this?

Not sure of the answer to that one, but the first real trailer dropped and it looks as though it’s going to be a lot more brutal and terrifying than any of the other instalments. Take a look at it below:

Following the latest Ghostface killings, the four survivors leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Yeah that does seem a hell of a lot darker than the previous one doesn’t it? Not that horror movies about killer psychopaths can ever be presented as lighthearted of course, but this Ghostface does look a bit more sinister than those of the past. The bit in the store with the shotgun looks pretty damn tense! Looking forward to March for this.
