In an interview to mark Donald Trump’s 100th day in office, the US president sat down with ABC News and was asked if he would ‘facilitate the return’ of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old from El Salvador who was deported from the US in March. This led to a disagreement, and naturally, Trump got personal in a way that only he can…

Classic Trump. Turns out he’s probably on the wrong side of this one though, as according to the 2 minutes of research I’ve just put into it (i.e. asking ChatGPT), Kilmar Abrego Garcia indeed does not have “MS-13” explicitly tattooed on his knuckes, but rather, he has tattoos of a leaf, a smiley face, a cross, and a skull on his fingers.
Now, there is a claim that these specific symbols are code for “MS-13”, but the fact remains (or at least it seems to), that the reporter was right; any image Trump saw with the digits “MS-13” on Garcia’s knuckles was photoshopped. Furthermore, the guy didn’t even have a criminal record. So on the surface, it does seem a tad unfair that he’s been deported over claims that he’s a gang member, when there’s apparently no evidence to support this.
This is Garcia:
Does this mean Trump will admit he got this one wrong and allow Garcia back into the States? Um, doubt it.
