The Director Of Irreversible’s New Film ‘Climax’ Looks Like An LSD Fuelled Nightmare

Gaspar Noe burst into the public consciousness when his first movie Irreversible shocked pretty much everyone with a close to ten minute rape scene back in 2002 and it doesn’t look like he’s let up since then with his latest movie ‘Climax’ which looks like it’s all kind of crazy and weird.

There’s no point in me summing it up so here’s the official synopsis from Noe and the trailer:

From director Gaspar Noé comes a hypnotic, hallucinatory, and ultimately hair-raising depiction of a party that descends into delirium over the course of one wintry night. In Climax, a troupe of young dancers gathers in a remote and empty school building to rehearse.

Following an unforgettable opening performance lit by virtuoso cinematographer Benoît Debie and shot by Noé himself, the troupe begins an all-night celebration that turns nightmarish as the dancers discover they’ve been pounding cups of sangria laced with potent LSD.

Tracking their journey from jubilation to chaos and full-fledged anarchy, Noé observes crushes, rivalries, and violence amid a collective psychedelic meltdown. Starring Sofia Boutella and a cast of professional dancers, Climax is Noé’s most brazen and visionary statement yet.

Yeah I mean I’m not really sure what’s going on there except that a bunch of dancers get high on LSD, do some crazy dancing and then probably end up having sex with each other and killing each other. I mean that sounds pretty cool to me and a good way to kill a couple of hours hey? Probably gonna be pretty trippy and traumatic to be honest and

For more trippy looking movies, check out the latest Nicolas Cage movie. Really does look weird that one.
