Famously level-headed Derek Chisora is considering a run as the Reform UK Mayor of London, after striking up a friendship with Nigel Farage.

The British heavyweight legend, 41, is close pals with Farage and has already campaigned for Brexit. According to The Sun (I know, I know), Chisora’s pals are now urging him to run for London Mayor.

A source close to Chisora told the paper: “Derek has been a loyal supporter of Nigel for years and they are known to attend social events together. Nigel is always ringside at his fights.

“Friends of Derek are urging him to take on Labour at the next London election.

“He has real personality and stands a good chance of winning if the Reform surge continues.”

Chisora has previously spoken of his friendship with Nigel Farage, saying: “I don’t know anything about politics, but I think we have to put British people first.

“I became friends with Nigel and Nick Candy and campaigned for Brexit.”

Not knowing anything about politics is probably not a great start, but there’s plenty of time to get him up to speed.

Can you imagine if Reform actually pick Derek Chisora as their Reform candidate for London Mayor? If his boxing press conferences are anything to go by, they’re going to have to nail the tables in the council meetings to the floor!

It’s worth noting that Celebrity SAS tough guy Ant Middleton has also said he wants to be Reform’s pick for London Mayor, so Chisora faces some competition there.

Sadiq Khan is expected to step down as Labour London Mayor before the next election in 2028. So it looks like we’re getting a fresh face no matter what happens.
