We’re all still talking about the Will Smith slap at the Oscars on Sunday and probably will be for quite some time, but the victim in all this Chris Rock has stayed silent on the matter until his comedy show in Boston last night.

Rock famously doesn’t let people film his comedy sets so there isn’t any video footage of his comments but here’s what he apparently said:

How was your weekend?

Let me be all misty.

I don’t have a bunch of things to say about it right now, so if you came to hear that, I have a whole show I wrote before this weekend.

I’m still kind of processing what happened.

I will talk about what happened at some point.

And it will be serious and funny.

That isn’t really that useful is it, but I suppose it’s good that he doesn’t sound too traumatised or upset about it all, unlike some people like Amy Schumer and Ben Shepherd. I have no doubt that at some point Rock will be able to come up with a monologue that’s both hilarious and addresses the serious repercussions and dangerous precedents of Will Smith’s actions, but sadly it seems like we might have to wait a while to hear it. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

For more of the same, check out Richard Madeley’s take on the situation. Bit of a weird one for him to get involved with hey.
