The other day a video went viral of a police officer in Jacksonville, Florida, smashing a driver’s window and punching him in the face for no good reason, before dragging him out of his car and punching him in the face again.

Definitely seemed like excessive force, but it was hard to say for sure without seeing the full thing on the cop’s bodycam. Well, here it is…

22-year-old William McNeil Jr’s lawyers say the footage clearly depicts police brutality, and it’s hard to argue with them. OK, McNeil did lock his door and refuse to exit the vehicle, but he had his hands up and was not resisting at the point that he was dragged out of the car and punched in the head. If that’s not unequal force, then what is?

In any case, all this could have been avoided if that one officer wasn’t such a d1ck in the first place. Who pulls someone over for not having their lights on in the middle of the day? Even if you do, just give them a warning and move on. He also knew that the driver’s window was faulty from his initial interaction with the driver. Meanwhile, the officer on the passenger side was cool and cordial. Full blame on that one cop IMO. Why he needed to punch this lad in the face is beyond me.

The good news is that, by the end of this, McNeil will probably be able to ditch that piece of sh1t car and get himself something nice because he’s looking at a 6-figure payout minimum. Don’t spend it all at once…
