Former Astronomer CEO and disgraced tech exec Andy Byron is reportedly considering legal action against Coldplay after the band’s kiss cam accidentally exposed his affair with HR director Kristin Calbot earlier this month.
The couple — both married to other people — were well and truly busted when footage of them cuddling got put up on the big screen, though they would never have gone viral if they hadn’t reacted with pure horror in the moment:

The clip immediately blew up online, with Byron resigning from the company within 48 hours while Calbot was placed on leave. According to reports, Byron is now exploring legal action against the band and event organisers citing “emotional distress” and “invasion of privacy.”
A source close to Byron said: “He didn’t consent to being filmed or publicly humiliated. He thinks Coldplay made him a meme.”
According to one legal expert, however, a successful lawsuit is a long shot: “At a public concert with cameras and 70,000 people, your expectation of privacy is near zero. It sounds like he’s trying to shift blame.”
Yeah, I’m pretty sure there’s no way Byron can win this lawsuit if indeed he decides to go down that route. In fact it could result in him losing even more of his $20+ million net worth, if you consider that his wife is probably going to take him to the cleaners in the divorce (she’s already removed his surname from her social media profiles).
Not to mention, it would just drag the whole saga on and he’ll continue to be mocked and ridiculed on the internet for as long as it does.
I’m also pretty sure that the Terms of Agreement on any concert ticket (certainly for a band like Coldplay) would state that you could be filmed and the footage could be shared, so it’s not like he wasn’t warned.
Probably a good idea to just accept responsibility for what he did and move on from the situation. Just because you’re a multi-millionaire, doesn’t mean you can win every battle. Especially when the internet is concerned.
