Burgers, Oreos, butter – is there anything America won’t try to batter and deep fry? By the looks of this video, that would be a no. Someone across the pond has done the unthinkable and actually managed to deep fry water. What next? Air?

To be fair, it does actually look pretty cool. American chef, Jonathan Marcus, came up with the method by suspending water in gelatinous membrane using calcium alginate, before coating it in flour, egg and panko bread crumbs.
Pretty cool huh? Although something tells me it’s not going to be the next biggest food trend.
