One of the biggest scams around these days is when you book a flight to go on holiday and think it’s gonna be fairly cheap, then have to pay about another £100 to get your basic bag onto the plane there and back, but this cool party girl came up with a creative way to get around it.

Clearly inspired by that old episode of ‘Friends’ where Joey decides to show Chandler all his clothes, Gel Rodriguez from the Philippines decided to wear all her clothes onto her flight after her carry on luggage exceeded the maximum weight of seven kilograms by two and a half kilograms. The simple solution for her was to unpack her bags and put on 2.5 kilograms worth of clothes for the flight. Seems so easy doesn’t it?

Obviously she also had to take a picture of the outfit that quickly went viral worldwide. Here’s what she had to say about it:

I didn’t want to pay the fee for the excess baggage because it was only two kilograms (4.4 lbs).

I wouldn’t do it again because it was really hot underneath all of them on the flight.

Yeah, great work there Gel, kinda crazy that it was really hot on a plane when you were wearing all your clothes. Surprising almost!

I suppose you gotta say fair play to her, she saved about £30 from wearing all her clothes and had a really crappy, uncomfortable time on her flight. Hope it wasn’t a nine hour flight or anything! And that she was staying somewhere with a washing machine whenever she ended up at her destination. Could have been a really lame holiday with a bunch of stinky clothes to choose from to wear.

Maybe pay the £30 next time. Or even better weigh your bag before you go to the airport!
