A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after Keir Starmer’s home in Kentish Town, north London was damaged in a fire yesterday.

The 21-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday and remains in custody after two other incidents of suspected arson, one on an Islington property also linked to Starmer, and another on a car.

Keir Starmer bought the four-bedroom terraced property in 2004 for £650,000 – roughly £1,150,000 today – and paid off the mortgage last September. Obviously, he lives at 10 Downing Street now, but had a tenant living in the Islington property. That person was safely evacuated. The Kentish Town property was empty.

Here’s the damage to the front door at the Kentish Town property:

Counter-terrorism police are now investigating the motive behind the arson attacks.

The Met Police said in a statement:

“A man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks.

“The 21-year-old was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, 13 May on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He remains in custody.

“The arrest relates to three incidents.

“On Monday, 12 May at 01:35hrs, police were alerted by the London Fire Brigade to reports of a fire at a residential address in NW5.

“As a precaution and due to the property having previous connections with a high-profile public figure, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation into this fire. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what caused it.

“The investigation team are also considering two other incidents – a vehicle fire in NW5 on Thursday, 8 May and a fire at the entrance of a property in N7 on Sunday, 11 May – and are investigating whether they may be linked to the fire in NW5 on 12 May.

“All three fires are being treated as suspicious at this time, and enquiries remain ongoing.”

Whatever you think of Keir Starmer, it’s obviously completely wrong to bring this kind of threat to his front door. What makes it even worse is that these aren’t even properties that Keir Starmer lives in, so it’s just putting random people at risk for no reason whatsoever. It’s just such a stupid thing to do on so many levels.

Let’s hope this lad gets the book thrown at him, whatever his motivations were. Maybe he’s a Reform UK supporter who is angry that Keir Starmer is stealing Nigel Farage’s ideas? Or maybe it’s something to with farmers, or Gaza, or energy prices? There’s so much to be wound up about these days.
