It’s hard to believe that the internet wasn’t even really a thing that many of us used 20 years ago given how integral it is to most of our lives these days, but if you can think back to those times and the age of dial up then you’ll remember that it was a really weird time for everyone involved.

This is doubly true if you were hitting puberty around that time, which I imagine some of you reading this were. Suddenly, you wanted to bang anything with a pulse and everybody you looked at suddenly became sexier and one way to explore this was via your dial up internet connection. But only if your parents were out, of course.
This confusing time is perfect illustrated in the short movie below starring Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer, playing a Catholic schoolgirl that suddenly becomes obsessed with masturbating after an AOL chat gets unexpectedly seedy. It’ll bring back a lot of memories:
Yep, I know the exact feeling of knowing your parents weren’t coming back for a while, although I would probably be whacking on Cruel Intentions rather than Titanic.
The whole cybersex part was hilarious too – as if that was actually a thing? Do people still do that anymore? Well I know people sext each other obviously, but do you pick up people in chatrooms to do it with still? What a weird time in history.
