Hulu will reveal the “secrets” of Victoria’s Secret in the docuseries as it will cover the journey of the giant lingerie brand from a small undergarment company to a humongous brand that shaped the careers of various models, including Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Miranda Kerr, and Naomi Campbell, among others and also impacted the pop-culture strikingly.
The docuseries is still under production and is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2022 on Hulu. Victoria’s Secret fans in the UK who don’t want to miss the much-anticipated docuseries can watch it directly on their screens as you can unblock Hulu in the UK and get to watch it on the same day as it releases in the US.
The brand has recently received a lot of criticism for not promoting body positivity for their limited sizing and promoting mostly zero-sized white models. The docuseries will feature the inner workings of the brand and the factors of misogynism, sexism, and workplace toxicity that led to its fall and negative image.
You will also see the behind-the-scenes drama and guest appearances of notable celebrities. It will unveil the factors behind the rise and fall of one of the best-known lingerie brands in the US.
Victoria’s Secret also gave birth to the annual VS fashion show, which was a huge cultural event that held every year (1995-2018) and garnered the attention of millions of viewers worldwide but saw a dramatic decrease in viewership over its shows in the last few years after finally shutting down in 2019.
The fashion show got canceled because Victoria’s Secret’s parent brand – L Brands, allegedly wanted to “evolve” the brand’s marketing. There was a popular opinion that the show did not really directly have an impact on the brand’s lingerie sales.
The shows were popular for being star-studded by musical superstars. Its last show included performances by Shawn Mendes, Halsey, Rita Ora, The Chainsmokers, and Bebe Rexha, among others, getting viral on social media and receiving appraisal from their fans.
The Hulu original docuseries is under the directorial supervision of Matt Tyrnauer, the famous American director, journalist, and writer known for his notable previous works, including Studio 54, Valentino: The Last Emperor, Where’s My Roy Cohn, and Best of Enemies, and will be available in the first quarter of 2022 exclusively for the Hulu subscribers.
