Shooto Brazil has announced that tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, Emerson Falcao and Juliana Velasquez will compete against each other in the first ever pro male vs female MMA fight ever.

Falcao has 1 loss and 0 wins to his name, whereas this is Velasquez’s first professional bout.

I’ve never seen either of these two compete and know nothing about them beyond this story but I’m going to go out on a limb and say this young lady is in for a royal arse-whooping. That’s just the hunch I’m getting as a casual MMA fan. Don’t get me wrong – this is a very progressive move and I’m all for it but I think there’s potential for just a little bit of guilt in MMA circles tomorrow if this guy goes completely beast mode on her (after all, he’s lost his one professional fight — he’s not looking to lose his second).

Not to mention the guy looks like a stone cold killer and she looks a bit like a supply teacher we had in school once. I would love to be proven wrong though — she might turn out to be a complete animal and tear this dude apart.

Good luck to both of them – we’ll have the results for you over the weekend.
