PlayStation Will Always Be Better Than Xbox

In the age we live in, there are so many different consoles to choose from. The only two we care about, Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4, came out a long time ago. And yet, three years later these consoles are still battling to be the best.

Question is, whose side are you on? I know who we’re siding with – PlayStation every time. Console wars have come a long way since the days when Nintendo fanboys bragged about the SNES having “more colours” than the Sega Mega Drive. Now it’s all about frame-rates and resolution and exclusive games and appa. With every aspect in mind, here’s why PlayStation comes out on top:

Virtual Reality

A key difference between the PS4 and Xbox One is that Sony fans are able to experience virtual reality on their consoles with PlayStation VR. Of course, the headsets are like £350, but still. PlayStation VR immerses you in the game world, letting you look around and explore environments in full 3D. VR will make its way to Xbox One, but Sony beat them to it.

Better Frame-rates and Resolution

Xbox One has improved, but the PS4 has a better track record when it comes to frame-rates and resolution. Games like Project Cars and Star Wars: Battlefront all have a higher resolution on PS4. Meanwhile, the PlayStation version of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition manages to run at 60 frames-per-second, compared to 30 frames-per-second on Xbox One.

Streaming games

You can’t beat a bit of PlayStation Now. It’s pretty much the gaming equivalent of Netflix, and allows you to stream endless PS3 games on your PS4 and other Sony devices. It’s the perfect way to play the games you love and miss and it’s only £12.99 a month for unlimited access. Beat that Xbox.

The Last of Us Remastered

Exclusives

Xbox might have some decent console exclusives like Forza Horizon 3, Titanfall and Ori and the Blind Forest, but the PS4 has Bloodborne, Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Remastered. Much better. Plus there are loads of quality indie games to choose from like Soma, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and Journey.

Controls

You need a good gamepad to play games, and both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have them. However, the DualShock 4, the PS4’s gamepad, is a completely overhauled controller that keeps the best parts of the DualShock 3 and fixes the worst. The analog sticks feel better, the triggers are more responsive, and the controller just feels nicer in the hand. It even features a built-in.

It can stand up

The original Xbox One is a clunky eyesore. It took up way too much space under the TV and also a bit behind it thanks to the power pack. There’s no argument that the PS4 is sleek, thin and versatile, freeing up space for whatever the fuck else you want to put under your TV. The Xbox One S does at least come with a stand, but it’s no contest to the model-like physique of the PS4. Black is the new black.

You might not agree with everything I’ve said, but I’m sticking with my guns and saying that PlayStation wins every time. If you don’t agree with me, tough shit. Deal with it suckers.

For all of you who do agree with me, why not take a trip down memory lane and check out the five best PlayStation 1 games? Nostalgia alert.
