In some parts of the world, they let you have multiple wives. But when you play for Arsenal, they let you share wives, according to Mikel Arteta. Honestly, it’s not the worst team-bonding exercise I’ve ever heard of.
The Arsenal manager was speaking to the media ahead of the showdown Vs Liverpool on Sunday when he was asked about a confrontation between Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko after the game against Nottingham Forest earlier this week. Here’s what he said:
‘White and Zinchenko have been in the same house for the last three days sharing wives and everything!’ | Mikel Arteta 😳#arsenal #arteta #mikelarteta

“They’ve been in the same house for the last few days, sharing wives and everything. They’re living together now. They are best mates. You don’t argue with someone you don’t have a great relationship with.”
Are we to glean from this that the entire Arsenal squad are swinging, or just White and Zinchenko? Could be a new dynamic Arteta has introduced into the team to send them on a winning run to the end of the season, and so far it seems to be working (well, for the last 2 games at least). Or is just that English isn’t Arteta’s first language and he didn’t realise what he was saying? Either way, Twitter is having a field day with the whole thing.
May as well round this off with some photos of Ben White and Zinchenko’s respective wives, Vlada Zinchenko and Milly Adams White. Sharing is caring, indeed!
