Madonna announced her 40 year anniversary tour this week and fans have been desperately trying to get tickets through the O2 priority and LiveNation presales before they go on general sale on Friday for her single UK date in London in October.

Prices for single tickets are already pretty outrageous – £450 for standing at the front, £250 for floor seating and £90 for the nosebleeds – but fans are even angrier about the cost of tickets that are already appearing on resale sites with some being offered for as much as £3000. That’s a hell of a lot for a show that’s probably only going to last a couple of hours, but I suppose it’s a once in a lifetime kind of show isn’t it?

Obviously fans didn’t have anything better to do so decided to shout out into the void of Twitter about how upset they were about the expense associated with attending a Madonna show:

You know what? Even though those prices are pretty insane – especially the resale ones – I kinda agree with that last person? The fact is Madonna is the biggest selling female artist of all time and a major icon, so I would probably expect to be spending a hell of a lot of money for the privilege to see her in concert, especially as this is the first and possibly last time she’s actually doing a Greatest Hits tour.

I know there’s the cozzy living crisis going on at the moment, but even so I think that this isn’t an unexpected expense. Gotta pay the big bucks to see the big show, so suck it up. Good luck to everyone trying to get tickets tomorrow.

For more of the same, check out this weird Madonna nude NFT that she released last year. What the hell is that about?
