Joey Barton Under Fire After Making ‘Racist’ Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Post

Ever since being sacked by Bristol Rovers in October, Joey Barton just can’t stop being a pr1ck on the internet. This time, he’s posted a Tweet wondering what Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is doing on the England coaching team, surmising that it must be due to ‘tokenism’ and filling a diversity quota.

Here’s what Joey Barton Tweeted following England’s 1-0 loss to Brazil the other day (which I’m sure he enjoyed):

I mean, that’s a pretty wild hashtag to be adding at the end there. By his own logic, what is Joey Barton doing commenting on international management after being sacked as coach by both Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers? At least Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink won promotion from League Two with Burton before they sacked him last year.

Did Joey Barton have an issue when Sven Goran-Eriksson, a Swede, was the England manager for two major tournaments? Doubt it somehow.

Although, in fairness to Joey Barton, it should be pointed out that Gareth Southgate himself explained that the appointment of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was at least partially motivated by a willingness to diversify:

Who knows, if the England team was actually any good, then maybe Joey Barton wouldn’t be able to b1tch and moan about things like this. I’m pretty sure his real issue is that he’s bitter at being sacked from two coaching jobs and no one in football seems to want anything to do with him anymore.

Meanwhile he’s got to watch Gareth Southgate and co mismanage a talented England squad who I’m sure Barton thinks he can do a much better job with. As it stands though,  he’s got so much free time on his hands that he spends his day picking fights on Twitter and getting himself into legal trouble.

Speaking of which, Joey Barton’s fans have already raised close to £15,000 to help Barton out with his ‘bike nonce’ lawsuit. Mad to think he’s got so many supporters out there, even if his peers don’t think much of him.
