I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN ACID WITH THE PUNK ROCKERS: LISTEN TO “THE FLAMING LIPS WITH NEON INDIAN”.

The Flaming Lips spent a couple days in New York with Alan Palomo. Under his Neon Indian moniker, Palomo released 2009’s excellent Psychic Chasms, which in many ways felt a bit like an homage to Oklahoma City’s finest. Soon thereafter, a rumour developed that The Flaming Lips and Neon Indian recorded the entire session and that this mysterious 12″ of the session would surface. In true Flaming Lips fashion, the four-track EP is only available at two record stores in the U.S. (literally, two records stores) and neither the Flaming Lips or Neon Indian have announced any chance of international release. Currently, there are only 1,000 individually unique records pressed on special-colored vinyl, hand-picked by Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne.

Thanks to this series of tubes and the right people in the right places, we at Sick Chirpse are proud to give you a chance to listen to the 12″ – IN FULL – and digitally ripped at a glorious 320kbps. On a personal note, this release features my new favorite title for a song – Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Truth? (Part 2).

The Flaming Lips Vs Neon Indian Tracklist

1. Is David Bowie Dying?

2. Alan’s Theremin

3. You Don’t Respond

4. Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want The Truth? (Part 2)
