James Wan is one of the most important names in modern day horror after having a massive hand in the creation of ‘Saw’, ‘Insdidious’ and ‘The Conjuring’ and it looks like his new movie ‘M3Gan’ will be following in the footsteps of these as well.

Produced by Wan and coming from an original story by him, ‘M3Gan’ tells the story of a prototype robot doll that doesn’t exactly do what it says it’s supposed to do when looking after an 8 year old girl and not letting anyone harm her physically or emotionally. Take a look at the creepy/kooky trailer below:

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a life-like doll programmed to be a child’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. Designed by brilliant toy-company roboticist Gemma (Get Out’s Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen and watch and learn as she becomes friend and teacher, playmate and protector, for the child she is bonded to.

When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), Gemma’s unsure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her M3GAN prototype with Cady in an attempt to resolve both problems—a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.

Wow. That looked like it was gonna end up being really scary about halfway through the trailer but then it just looked a bit silly when she started wiggling around the hallway. Could actually end up being really good especially because it’s coming from Wan and also the scriptwriter of ‘Malignant’ as that was definitely one of the most stupid and dumb movies of last year, but also one of the most fun. Can see this  really being something.

For more of the same, check out this trailer for Netflix’s latest horror series ‘The Midnight Club’. Just in time for Halloween.
