The worrying trend of people live streaming events that absolutely nobody wants to see via Facebook continues with this latest video of a father putting a gun to his head and pulling the trigger in protest of his daughter’s wedding.

54-year-old Ayhan Uzun filmed himself going on a lengthy rant in Arabic with a gun in his hand about how he was unable to share his daughter’s happiness at her engagement and was not able to approve it himself. Throughout it all his relatives begged him not to kill himself but his efforts were to no avail.

You can read what he says below as well as seeing the video, although it’s pretty disturbing so if you can’t handle someone shooting themselves in the head then please don’t watch it:

On my daughter’s happiest day (her engagement), they called me and said to me: “Father come have a treat.”

Nobody asked about me. Nobody treated me like a man. My father-in-law took my place and without having a right he approved my daughter’s wedding.

Nobody said this girl’s father is alive. Though I would have waited for my daughter and family to say to me: “Come father, be with us”.

My wife called me and she told me. I said to her why didn’t you come to tell me, and she said: “We cannot make a personal visit to you…”

Maybe some of you will call this a show. I do not want anybody to go through this thing that I am going through.  A little later I will put an end to my life with the gun I am holding in my hands.

I am livestreaming tonight, and it is my will, I do not want the ones who put me in this position to attend my funeral.

Goodbye, I am leaving, take good care of yourselves.

Jesus, that is some heavy stuff to deal with on a Wednesday. RIP to the guy.

I can’t really comprehend why this event would motivate the guy to end his life but I suppose he belongs to a different culture and generation to me where such actions greatly affect them. If this video serves any purpose though, it’s that if you’re feeling really down and depressed about something then you really need to pick up the phone and talk to someone rather than ending up like poor Uzun.
