Over the last few weeks, Eamonn Holmes has made it abundantly clear that he hates Phillip Schofield with a passion, and has now addressed a key incident that might explain at least part of the reason why.

The moment took place back in 2019 as Holmes’s wife Ruth Langsford was mid-sentence filming a link between Loose Women and This Morning. As Langsford shared a brief snippet of what was to come on Loose Women, Schofield ‘rudely’ interrupted:

I’m not sure if it was Schofield taking the reins there or a producer in his ear asking him to hurry Langsford along, but either way she “only had about two more words to say” and so wasn’t too happy about being interrupted on live TV like that, especially by a prat like Phillip Schofield.

Four years later, the exchange was brought up by former Daily Star editor Dawn Neeson on Eamonn Holmes’s show on GB News, and he simply replied the following:

“I could give you a list of a lack of kindness and awareness from the both of them (Schofield and Willoughby) about how they would socialise and know people around them.

You just have to look at my phone, full of people glad to see the back of the two of them.”

No love lost there then.

Just the other day, Holmes rubbished Schofield’s statement that he was stepping down from his role on This Morning, insisting he was fired instead. Don’t ask him why though – that could get us all in trouble.
