Deon Cole: “If There Are Any White Men In The Room With Tourette’s, I Advise You To Read The Room”
Comedian Deon Cole opened the NAACP Awards (The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) with a prayer last night, making amusing comments about Teyana Taylor, 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj, before referencing the N-word controversy at the BAFTAs the other week.
Here’s what the comedian had to say:

A lot of people are up in arms about him “punching down” and mocking a disability, but I don’t think you can demand that people stop being sensitive about the N-word being yelled out by a man with Tourette’s, and then also demand that a comedian does not joke about it a week later. It just seems a bit like selective outrage.
Some are also accusing Deon Cole of “threatening violence”, but again, he’s literally a comedian doing a comedy bit on stage.
What would have been really funny is if a black person in the crowd yelled “cr*cker!” when a white person got on stage and then everyone could be like: “ignore him, he’s got Tourette’s.” Missed opportunity on that one.
