It’s all the rage these days for classic movies to be restored in 4K to make them look way better than their original cuts and the latest one of these is Alfred Hitchcock’s notorious ‘Psycho’.

I’m sure pretty much everyone reading this has probably caught the movie at some point on late night television and if you were somehow allowed to see it when you were a ten year old like me, probably traumatised for a very long time by it and scared to go up the stairs for month. I don’t think I’ve ever watched it again since that formative experience, but it’s definitely stayed with me so it’s very tempting to make the trip to go and see it at the cinema in beautiful 4K once it’s released this Friday 27th May.

If you need any more convincing, then here’s the trailer:

Not sure if that’s the original trailer, but like I said I’m pretty sure almost everyone who goes to see it will have watched it before so it’s not like they need to keep anything secret from it is there? Interestingly, they’ll also be an extra 13 seconds of footage in the version that plays at cinemas, but I imagine you would have to be especially eagle eyed to pick up on that. Probably just some extra blood or something.

For more of the same, check out the trailer for the 4K version of ‘Apocalypse Now’. Stunning stuff.
