Last House On The Left (1972)

Anyone who had seen the remake will know there was a uncomfortable few minutes to sit through, but the original is where the disturbance kicks in. Before Wes Craven introduced us to Freddy Krueger in “A Nightmare On Elm Street” he graced us with this classic. You may be mistaken in thinking that the rape scene would be one of the more disturbing features in this film, and whilst it sits in there in an unsettling manner, what really sets the mood is the victim’s family methods of revenge. Included is oral sex where one of the attackers is detached of his member.

Despite the movie being released in 1972, it wasn’t granted a certificate by the BBFC until 2000, with it being held on the infamous “video nasty” list until that time.
