I seem to remember that everyone loved (500) Days of Summer when it came out a couple of years ago. I even went to see it on my own at the cinema I thought it looked so cool. OK, that isn’t strictly true I just went to see it because I had gone to the Birmingham Villa match at 1pm or something and there wasn’t any point in going home before I met my friend in town to go and see Johnny Foreigner at 6pm and going to see a movie would kill just about the right amount of time.

I thought it was ok but not that great or anything (but then I didn’t even really like Drive so what do I know?), but of course it did have a pretty hip soundtrack (just like Drive). I didn’t really need to go see a movie where the guy didn’t get the girl after Blues had just lost to Villa though. Still, it was alright, whatever. I wasn’t ever really clambering for a reunion between Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt though, although it seems like a bunch of emos would post gifs on their tumblrs of the two wishing that they had got back together.

So I guess they were all relatively ecstatic a couple of days ago when Zooey and Joe decided to make their wishes come true in this sublimely ridiculous video where Zooey plays ukelele and Joe plays guitar and they both sing a duet of ‘What are you doing New Year’s Eve?’ which if you can get over Zooey’s weirdass voice is actually kind of cute. I knew Zooey could (apparently) sing because of that She and Him thing she did with M. Ward (and I hear she sings the theme music to New Girl too?) but I was pleasantly surprised with how well Joe Gordon-Levitt sang. Who knew? What the hell is everyone else from Third Rock From The Sun doing now anyway?
