The Beastie Boys are one of the most well known and iconic groups of the past four decades and with good reason: they completely innovated their music genre and wrote some absolute stone cold bangers in the process.

Many people reading this probably won’t have been lucky enough to ever have seen the Beastie Boys live due to the fact that they hardly ever played over here and MCA’s sadly passed away five years ago,  but let me tell you it really was something. I was lucky enough to see them at the Manchester Evening News Arena back in 2004 and it seriously was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

I might have been a bit of a noob when it came to Beastie Boys live shows back then, but I was amazed when they played a few songs with their own instruments because it seemed absolutely crazy that a bunch of rappers would do that. But they absolutely smashed it and none more so than when they completely ripped Sabotage a new one, just like they did with their own instruments back on Letterman in 1994.

Check this out:

Absolutely phenomenal performance and super stoked that it’s there available to watch in HD whenever we want to check it out. RIP MCA.
