The Rock has got to be one one of the most successful men of the past couple of decades – not only is he a celebrated WWE wrestler, but he was also Hollywood’s most bankable movie star a couple of years ago too and he’s not really showing any signs of stopping as he’s now declaring that he’s thought about making a run for becoming the United States President.

Dwayne Johnson was being interviewed for the British version of GQ when he dropped the following bombshell:

The Rock

I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out.

I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring.

And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale.

But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.

To be honest, that isn’t really saying that he wants to go for it, but it is saying he’s thought about it and given the fact that people like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse The Body Ventura can get into office, I doubt The Rock would find it too hard. I mean even Kane is making a run for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in a couple of years and he’s nowhere near as popular as The Rock. It’s a no brainer.

What is puzzling though is why The Rock is leaving it so long – why the hell doesn’t he just run now? It seems impossible to think that he would lose out to Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in a Presidential race as they’re both completely awful and it would absolutely suck if either of them got elected. C’mon Rock – if you really are The People’s Champion then you’ll know what to do.
