The Muppets have made a name out of spoofing famous movies and they’re at it again with a new set of movie posters spoofing the twilight movies. They’re actually pretty funny. You can see them below:

These are actually in aid of a brand new Muppet movie coming out in February 2012 over here. Which is kinda bullshit considering it comes out about two and a half months earlier in America for Thanksgiving. I guess the Muppets probably isn’t as big over here as it is over there but I mean, come on, if dumbs movies like 11/11/11 can come out on both sides of the Atlantic at the same time (or maybe even worldwide, you would think it wouldn’t work otherwise right?) you would assume that Disney could bust a gut and sort it out for a Muppet reunion right? I mean they did it for Tron: Legacy and that was terrible. Terrible. At least the Muppets movie is going to be intentionally dumb so it might possibly end up being good.

If you’re interested in what the plot of the new Muppets movie it goes something a bit like this:

‘When 3 muppet fans learn that Tex Richman wants to drill under the muppet theater for oil Gary, Mary and Walter set out to find the muppets who have been split up for years: Kermit lives in his own mansion depressed in hollywood, Gonzo is a high class plumber at Gonzo’s Royal Flush, Fozzie performs with a tribute band called The Moopets , Miss Piggy is the plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, and Animal is at a celebrity anger managment rehab center in Santa Barbara’

This sounds like pretty much every Muppets movie ever. Or every Blues Brothers movie ever. I guess the two are pretty interchangeable. In any case the Muppets is usually pretty fun and stupid so I’ll probably check it out, I mean they’re just so cute and funny you can’t help but love them right?

Here’s a trailer to the new Muppets movie, simply entitled, The Muppets:
