Steve Jobs is dead. A number of reliable news sources (CNN, BBC, Huffington Post) are reporting that Apple founder Steve Jobs is dead. This only just happened so not much is known about why Steve Jobs is dead right now. Hopefully some details explaining why Steve Jobs is dead will be released soon.

Apple have posted the following statement on their website: Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius and the world has lost an amazing human being, as Steve Jobs is dead. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve Jobs have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. He leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

Steve Jobs has had dices with death before. In 2004, he battled an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, but managed to beat it despite being close to death. In 2009, he was forced to get a liver transplant in order to try to remain alive and not wake up dead one day.

In August this year, Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple citing ill health, but I doubt anyone could have suspected that he would be dead just over a month later. I mean, I didn’t expect Steve Jobs to be dead the day after the iPhone 4S was announced. It seems ironic that he should be announced dead the same week that the Iphone 4S Siri technology – perhaps the most significant technology that Steve Jobs and Apple have created so far – was announced.

Personally, I have a lot of Apple products (Macbook, iPhone) and Sick Chirpse has given away a lot of Apple products in competitions, so we have a lot to be thankful to Steve Jobs for. I think the whole world does too.  Steve Jobs is not the only one of Sick Chirpse’s heroes who have been pronounced dead recently as he now joins the dead among the likes of DJ Medhi and Ryan Dunn.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs, thanks for everything.
