The Beastie Boys are one of hip hop – and probably music’s – greatest and most famous acts, and that’s why even after the death of founding member MCA’s death (RIP), there are still lots of untold stories about them. This is one of them.

Photographer Ricky Powell was lucky enough to go on tour with the Beastie Boys on one of their first tours and shoot some of their first cover stories, and in the short video below he reminisces about just how much fun they had in those early days:

What a cool customer, but it really does go to show how much have changed in those 30 years since Ricky first started shooting bands. Those really were the days.
