R Kelly has been embroiled in yet another controversy after Buzzfeed has reported quotes from several sets of parents who say that their daughters are being held against their will by the singer.

Three former members of Kelly’s entourage have also backed the parents’ claims that he is holding these girls in an abusive “cult”.

One quote says:

[Kelly] is a master at mind control… He is a puppet master.

The parents and former crew members state that Kelly keeps the women at his rented homes in Atlanta and Chicago, where he orders them to call him “daddy”, films their sexual activities and punishes them when they break the “rules”. Dark.

One of the former crew members, Asante McGee, added that there are six women at Kelly’s properties and that the singer, who is currently on tour in the US, controls “every aspect of their lives”:

Dictating what they eat, how they dress, when they bathe, when they sleep, and how they engage in sexual encounters that he records.

In the Buzzfeed report, it outlines how one set of parents have been trying to get hold of their daughter, now 21, for the past two years. Although she claims she is in a consensual relationship, many of the parents and crew members feel as if the girls are controlled and brainwashed. The mother, who goes by the name J to protect her daughter’s identity, described the last time they saw their daughter:

It was as if she was brainwashed. [She] looked like a prisoner — it was horrible.

I hugged her and hugged her. But she just kept saying she’s in love and [Kelly] is the one who cares for her. I don’t know what to do.

These accusations come after Kelly was twice arrested over ten years ago over claims that he had been involved sexually with an underage girl, although no charges were made. A while back Kelly was quoted saying that he had given financial payments to other people who had accused him of having sexual encounters with underage girls, adding that it was wrong to do this and that he was simply doing as his lawyer instructed. Either way, Kelly has had a controversy-filled past and it looks like with the release of this report, things are about to get even more turbulent for the R&B singer.
