Mortal Kombat is one of the most famous video games of all time, so naturally it had an absolutely terrible movie made out of it as well. That was just standard practice back then.

But the movie could have been so much more, as this absolutely badass promo pitch for a film called ‘Scorpion Is Back’ proves. It’s a pretty dumb premise, but it’s shot so well and seriously that it actually comes across as being completely and utterly badass and making me want to full on see the finished movie.

Completely sick right?

Unfortunately this was made back in 2010 and when they couldn’t secure any funding for a movie they decided to make it into a web series a couple of years ago. I can’t actually find a link to that but most reviews on the internet seem to agree that it was pretty awful, so maybe it’s a good thing I can’t find it and the memory of this excellent promo won’t be sullied forever.

Kinda wish whoever made this had suceeded in getting the funding for finishing it off though. Would have ruled.
