Videos showing high school cheerleaders screaming in pain while being forced to do the splits have gone viral and are now at the centre of a police investigation.

The various videos that were taken during a camp at East High School in Denver show the coach, Ozell Williams, pushing the girls into position while other teammates held them down. The footage below is of one of the girls who suffered this bizarre practice – 13-year-old Ally Wakefield.

Harrowing stuff. Since leaking online the videos have gone viral and Ozell Williams as well as the high school principal, assistant principal and Denver Public Schools deputy general counsel have all been placed on leave.

Apparently before the videos went viral, Ally’s mum wrote to the school demanding answers. The email said:

I have attached a video of the forced splits she and her other team members were forced to do at cheerleading camp and practices; unless they had a doctor’s note. This is how Ally injured her leg.

My husband and I would like to know what the administration is going to do about my daughter’s injury and how it happened.

However, it was only months later after someone leaked the footage that Denver police are getting involved. Kirsten added:

I feel vindicated because we’ve been trying since the beginning of June just to get someone to hear us and be an advocate for our girls.

Well at least something is being done now and police are investigating it as possible child abuse – I think it’s pretty obvious from the video that it definitely is child abuse. At least this is the last time Ozell Williams will be allowed anywhere near that cheerleading court again. Sadistic bastard.

For the time the University of Washington pissed everyone off with their sexist cheerleader tryout poster, click HERE.
