If Melania Trump’s Jewellery Range Is So Good Then Why Did She Gift Michelle A Tiffany Box?

As of a few days ago, ex-Apprentice host and billionaire Donald Trump officially became the 45th president of the United States. That’s right, it actually happened. The same dude that handles all his problems by having a paddy on Twitter is actually one of the most powerful political leaders in the world and now we have to put up with him for at least another four years. Fab.

Since the election, Trump has already fucked up a lot of shit. Not only has he hired a chief strategist with ties to the KKK and attempted to roll back many Affordable Care Act regulations, but yesterday he reversed the laws on abortions meaning that many women carrying unwanted pregnancies will now be seeking desperate and illegal measures that could result in mental health issues, extreme pain and perhaps even death. He’s also heavily edited the White House website, removing all content to do with LGBTQ communities and all mentions of climate change. It’s bonkers.

The most curious of all the website changes, at least to me, is his wife’s official biography. Not only is Melania Trump apparently vehemently against cyber bullying amongst the youth of today, but she also “launched her own jewellery collection, ‘Melania™ Timepieces & Jewelry’, on QVC.” A pretty innocuous yet interesting fact, especially seeing as she awkwardly rocked up to her husband’s inauguration carrying a huge Tiffany & Co box in its signature teal design.

Surely if you have your own jewellery collection, you’d be jumping at the chance to show off your skills to the person whose role you were about to replace. But the matter doesn’t end there. After a public outcry on social media, QVC released a statement that admitted to hosting a collaborative accessory line with the future FLOTUS back in the day but denies having any links to the Trumps currently.

At QVC, we pride ourselves on curating an ever-changing mix of products from thousands of brands for our customers to discover. As part of this, QVC has offered items from Melania Trump’s brand. At this time, QVC does not have an active relationship with the brand.

The mention of Melania’s old jewellery line has since been taken down from the site. We all know the perks of fluffing up your CV when applying for a new job, but when you’ve already scored the position and are the first lady of the United States, then it’s pure embarrassing. Especially when you’re trying to claim bragging rights over a naff jewellery collection that looks like this:

Completely tragic. But not as tragic as her hubby trying to eradicate all evidence of his double chin from existence. Just own it, or learn how to contour or something. Honestly.
