It turns out that Lady Gaga’s non-profit Born This Way foundation claimed $2.1 million in net assets in 2012, but only a measly $5k of it went to charity.

Here’s the breakdown of BTWF’s tax report:

$300,000 in strategic consulting
$62,836 on stage productions
$50,000 on social media
$50,000 on event coordination
$406,552 on legal
$150,000 on philanthropic consulting
$60,000 on research
$58,768 on publicity fees
$78,000 on travel
$72,000 on salaries
$808,661 on “other”
$5,000 on grants to organizations or individuals

The largest sum – $808,661 on “other” — is an absolute piss take. Plenty of people use charities as a tax loophole rather than as a way of actually doing good but this is just taking it to a whole next level. Come on, you’re one of the richest entertainers on the planet and sell yourself as this massive philanthropist too. You don’t get to get away with this Lady Gaga (well you probably will, but the point stands). Complete bullshit.
