I’m not gonna lie, when I think about Kit Kats I don’t really think there’s much that they can do with the formula – maybe add a mint or an orange flavouring to it or something – but it turns out that someone has gone completely crazy with it and decided to make a Kit Kat cake.

Of course, this isn’t available in the UK but at Kit Kat’s flagship Chocolatory boutique in Tokyo’s Ginza district. So don’t get that excited before you read this article because chances are you’re probably never going to taste it.

The cake is named the Gateau Mignon Kit Kat and features a rich chocolate cake and a fondant filling found inside your traditional Kit Kat shell instead of the wafer. Apparently it took famed Japanese pastry chef Yasumasa Takagi over a year to develop it as he constantly investigated which flavours complimented each other within the Kit Kat shell in terms of sweetness.

Sounds  – and looks – like it’s going to be pretty good then. Just a pity I’m probably never going to get to put my mouth around it unless someone over here creates a similar one. If we start work on it now, we should be able to eat it around summer 2018… we can but hope.

For more food we can’t eat, check out this meat chocolate. Dunno if I even want to try that to be honest.
