With tensions rising around the world, many countries are fearful that a nuclear war is going to breakout in the upcoming months.

Although this might not happen, leaders are still preparing their armies for war should it come to it. One country that is definitely ready for combat is China. Once reliant on the Soviet Union for its arsenal, China has been making big investments to modernise its forces and become a bigger player on the international scene.

It’s known to be ruthless on the training field and in mainland China, its soldiers face an intense regimen. Here are just some photos that show the training sessions including muddy waters, fire obstacles, water boarding and practicing in freezing cold weather.
