3) If You’re Close To The Centre Of The Blast You Might Disappear Entirely

This is actually quite a terrifying thought. I mean, obviously the thought of a World War of any sort is terrifying. But to actually vanish completely without a trace is even more gut-wrenching.

Wilfred Burchett, a journalist and one of the first to enter Hiroshima after the atomic bomb struck, said of the horrific scene:

Of thousands of others, nearer the centre of the explosion, there was no trace. They vanished. The theory in Hiroshima is that the atomic heat was so great that they burned instantly to ashes — except that there were no ashes.

To make matters even worse, the bomb used in Hiroshima is a fraction of the size of the ones that would be used by the US and Russia today. Chilling stuff.
