A 33 year old Londoner named Simon Smith – or that should be originally named Simon Smith – has legally changed his name to ‘Bacon Double Cheeseburger’.

When asked for an explanation, he simply offered the following:

A name is the least important part of your personality — it’s given to you by someone else.

Bacon Double Cheeseburger was the first name I came up with.

Well, it’s a good thing he thought long and hard about the process of changing his name and what he was going to change it to, isn’t it? I mean there’s no way that he’s going to think that ‘Bacon Double Cheeseburger’ sounds stupid in a couple of years is he? No, no way at all there.

Someone who already isn’t too happy about it though is his fiancee Isabella, who is refusing to be known as Mrs Cheeseburger. I guess that means she’s keeping her own name, although to be honest I kind of hope it means that she’s actually calling the wedding off because she doesn’t want to be married to some 33 year old idiot who thinks it’s a good idea to change his name to Bacon Double Cheeseburger. We can only hope.

As for where this ranks in the dumbest name changes of all time – I wouldn’t even say it’s in the top ten.
